1.) How did it go?
My capstone presentation in my opinion were good. At first I was talking really fast and had no idea how to start or end my presentation. I was lucky to have been able to juniors first instead of adults so my first time nerves went away very fast, but then the advisers and principal Jackson come up to me and tell me to present and that when I realized I was talking really fast. After that presentation, I believe I did really well and I had a confidence booster when assistant principal Hinkle complimented my speaking abilities.
2.) Was it what I expected?
Absolutely NOT. I did not expect presentations to seem like a career fair that the college was holding. I think I was expecting something more formal just because my capstone teaching would constantly remind us that the project was serious and we had to come dressed up like as if presenting an important speech to the community. I also was expecting the judges to be different. I was only judged by one person and she was really sweet. I thought the judges were going to be mean and ask very specific hard question, but all the questions she asked me were opinion based.
3.) What if anything would I do differently?
I believe I would make my poster differently. I decided to use a trifold in order to display my poster and other fliers but I did not decorate it as much as I would like. My capstone teacher told the class to keep them extremely simple because the judges were not going to be interested in all the colors and glitter but when I looked at other tables/presenters they went all out on their trifolds and I know I could have done so much more on mine to make it look attractive.
