Friday Videos:PSA

When I saw the storyboard that was made for the title of 6 inches under, I was surprised. Most of my storyboards that I have created have relied heavily on words and descriptions not detailed pictures. I was also surprised to how close the storyboard was to the real thing. Plus I thought that no one used storyboards. I thought that the school was making us do all this extra work but I was wrong because even professionals use them

I really liked the PSA videos because they were simple and not over done. I personally do not like it when PSA's are overly dramatic because it does not capture the seriousness of there messages, but these videos were able to act out their scenes with out over doing it. My fear for my video is that it will be over done and not have a serious tone.

Video Outline

My video will be a mixture of a PSA and a commercial because my end product is an informational video that schools can show to their parents during meetings. I will be communicating my message by providing statistics and testimonials from my service learning agency. I will be keeping the video simple. I do not believe I will be using props, other than posters that families can hold up once they finished their testimonials. Since I will be using footage that can not be taken during class I will be using my parents video camera.

The Photoshop Effect

I believe Photoshop has gone to far because before people seemed realistic and now it is very obvious that pictures we see everyday are altered. I knew that pictures were altered but actually seeing someone do it and how easy it was, was just mind blowing. It was so easy to just change someone's body. The concept I find so funny was the guy who was doing the editing has a different point of view on perfection because he was basically calling her fat. The funny part about that was she was in shape working out everyday. Yet I understood those who get their pictures redone because who wants to have imperfections shown to the world but at the same times I believe the world should know your imperfections because at the end of the day we are only human.
